In figures provided to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, Iowaβs licensed casinos and sports wagering operators generated over $29 million in state tax revenue for April 2026.
At $146.3 million, April 2026 casino revenue increased by nearly 3.7% over totals reported from April 2025 with several operators posting double digit increases. Additionally, monthly sports wagering revenue increased by 16.5% year over year, with $21.86 million reported.
Casino Revenue and Taxes
Iowa casinos reported an increase in revenue of 3.67% compared with April 2025. Gaming taxes collected by the state increased 2.38% from April 2025:

- $27.61 million β State Gaming Taxes
Sports Wagering Revenue and Taxes
Sports wagering operations in the state reported an increase in revenue of 16.51% from April 2025. State taxes on sports wagering increased by 16.89% compared with April 2025:
- $21.86 million β Sports Wagering Revenue
- $1.48 million β State Sports Wagering Taxes
